College Degrees and the NFL

Saw this this morning...in The Skimm

" Study hard in college and you might be an NFL player someday. Or, at least a Philadelphia Eagles player. The WSJ reports that the Eagles have been recruiting college grads who hit the books, and not just the gym. It all started when the general manager and the head coach each realized that the pro teams with the most college degrees were also the most successful on the field by far. Need proof? The Seahawks and the Broncos weren’t just this year’s Super Bowl rivals, they were also two teams with some of the most college grads in the NFL. Tim Riggins with a diploma? Yes, please."

Excellent! Really, it just stands to reason that those who graduate from college while demonstrating top end football ability tend to have more intelligence, emotional maturity and ambition than those who don’t. It also doesn’t surprise me that the NFL is just figuring this out.

Or at least you want the Stanford/ND/NW or Ivy League guy as your teams player rep on the NFL PA
