I saw this article on TIME today and I just want to know others opinions about it.
College Degrees More Expensive, Worth Less in Job Market - TIME

It’s a little misleading. Stating that job experience is worth more than the degree is silly, especially since for most of the experience that recruiters want you need degrees for.

IMO, and this is merely opinion, the push for Masters degrees over experience is what is causing the surge in the increase of debt and a reduction in the worth of a bachelors, especially for those entry level positions. Many of the college age people these days (Gen Y) have instant gratification ingrained into their being. If they see that they can work less and make more by getting a Masters than they will by all means do so. This, however, comes with greater debt and dilutes the worth of the degrees. I think we will continue to see a disparity between the value of experience over the value of a degree in years to come, and people will begin to postpone or forget about advance degrees in lieu of experience once again.

Anyway, the only good point the article makes is that applying yourself and getting and education is not the same thing as ‘schooling’.
