There is no “of course”. The college you are going to likely has a list online of items you can not bring. If you can’t find a list like that, contact the college’s campus living office and ask.
Do not bring items that are forbidden. If you are caught, you could face a large fine. Not worth it. There are reasons they may find it. It’s unlikely they would go looking through your stuff, but as an example, if they open your door during a fire drill to make sure the room is empty, and you’ve accidentally left it out, you would get fined.
Maybe you will be lucky and it’s allowed, just ask.
