College emails?

Alright, so I think this is the right forum for this question, but please don't burn me on the stakes if it isn't. Anyhoo.

I'm sure everyone's getting emails from colleges saying you should apply there, etc. I was just wondering, are these emails automated? Like if you have a SAT score above a certain point, do these emails get sent to you automatically?

Just wondering. :) Thanks

Yes, many of them are sent because of test scores. After all, a college couldn't know your GPA, EC's or what a great personality you have, could they?
Take advantage of the links to get a feel for schools you may not have considered before. Most juniors start out with a "brand name" list of schools, but they need to do more looking before they find a really great fit.

College Board and ACT sell prospect lists to colleges. Colleges are able to set parameters (test score ranges, etc) for their list. Usually begins when PSAT information is released.

colleges have access when you put down your email and address on the SAT or PSAT or ACT

I assume your real question is "Does this mean anything about me?" Other than perhaps a good PSAT or SAT score, probably not. For real interest you would get a call.
