College Essay Topic HELP!

I'm currently thinking about what topic to write about for my Common App essay. I already completed one essay about my dad helping out with 9/11, but I don't feel that the essay focuses on me as much as it should. Due to this, I want to write another essay.

I have an idea for a topic, but I don't know if it is a good enough topic.

The idea is: I believe that everyone should have the characteristics that a child has. I try to be more like a child as well.

What I mean by that^ is children don't hold grudges, don't worry about what other people think of them, and just want to have fun.

Could this idea work? Also, I have worked a lot with children as far as extracurriculars go, my 'resume' shows that I'm not being a hypocrite.

Thanks for your help!

The first essay would probably be hard to write without focusing entirely on your dad, so it was probably for the best to scrap it. The second is fine. However, remember, it isn’t really the topic that is so important but rather the execution. If you go with the second one, back your argument up with specific examples of times in your life that made you feel that way. Remember to SHOW your opinion, not tell it!

Best of luck,
