Good Topic?

<p>I'm writing my essay for the National Merit Finalist thingy, and it's due to my counselor tomorrow. I'm chose to write about a person who has influenced me. I'm wrote about how I hate my dad because he's the stereotypical chinese parent who makes me to all these things and how i'm going to go to college and never come back, but I'm ending it by saying he's the biggest influence on my life; without him, I would never have accomplished everything I have in life.</p>

<p>Is this essay too boring/common? I'm a pretty good writer, but I'm just can't think of anything good to write today.</p>

<p>sure, I’ll read it for you. That was going to be my essay topic at first too, but I changed it because I thought it wasn’t compelling enough the way I wrote it</p>

<p>If you have to write about a person who influences you, try not to choose your parents or a famous person. So many students choose their parents or famous people, and it won’t really stand out</p>
