Hey so I was wondering if writing about my parents divorce was a topic that potentially could separate my essay from other essays. My English teacher told me even if it's well written, it's not a topic that can stand out because many kids write about the same topic. I'd normally trust him with these things since he's a very educated man, but does anyone think otherwise?

Well since divorce rates are getting higher and higher every year, it’s probably not super common but still quite a few of them out.

If you want to stick out, write about one great moment you had personally or some other unique thing that affected you.

Plus, I have heard it’s not so much the story than the lesson you write about so fluidly
