<p>If you apply with a fee waiver, several things could happen: you could be admitted with adequate financial aid, or you could be admitted with insufficient financial aid, or you could be rejected.</p>
<p>If you apply without a fee waiver, each of those things is still possible. </p>

If you apply for FA, I think need-aware institutions will pay a lot more attention to the financial records your family submits with the FA application than to whether you’ve used a fee waiver. And need-blind institutions won’t take FA into account when deciding whether to admit or deny.</p>
