I'm thinking of joining one but its more a fraternity for my major which is business administration. I know a little but I need some opinion or advice on how fraternities work and more details about it. I know I'm going to find out about it somehow soon once school starts but I just want a heads up on what's ahead. I'm a junior at state university if that helps. Thanks.

every school is different and every fraternity is different...go check out the one that you want to join...meet the people, see what the frat is all about .... you know if you like it or not.....

it's called rush week...every house will essentially invite you in for free, attempt to woo you with booze and parties and then decide if they like you enough to let you in to the frat. Some schools have dedicated "business" frats, so I'd check into that by just asking some people around campus.

There are many fraterities to choose from and you should visit everyone of them to see if you would fit in. You shouldn't nesseccarily feel like you need to join a "business" frat because being involved in the greek system you really learn a lot from other people who aren't in your major. And if you really want to be involved in a business type association there are many business clubs on college campuses. Just thought I would add my 2 cents.
