College Graduates/Students: What was your experience choosing a small vs large school?

I am working on making the tough decision between a smaller school that I think I will fit in better in and be less likely to get “lost” in vs a larger one which perhaps has a better program and opportunities. (Mostly WPI v UW Seattle although there are others that are being weighed in this).

I was just wondering if any college graduates or students could share some of their retrospective thoughts about the decision they made between a small and a large school. What made you make your decision and how do you feel about it now?

I went to UC Davis which at the time had more than 20,000 undergraduates (not sure how many they have now). I loved it BUT I will say I didn’t get very good advising in regard to graduate school. I was more of a number and I don’t remember ever meeting with an advisor while I was there. I was pretty self-motivated, but for some (like my own daughter) I could see how it would be a problem.
