So my 10 of my pledge brothers and I put together a big trip to Vegas 2 days after graduation - one of the best memories I've ever had.

Plane - depends on where you fly out of. We got trips from Sioux Falls (a couple of my friends grew up there) for like $110. I'd recommend Farecast.com to see what your best options are. It has an advanced algorithm to tell you if now is the time to buy tickets or not. I'd estimate that you'll need at least $150 bucks.

Hotel - depends on the day of the week. Sunday through Wednesday, much, much, much cheaper. You may be able to find some incredible deals too if you go in May (before Memorial Day) or early June. We had one night at MGM for $75 a room, and then moved to the Aladdin (now Planet Hollywood) for another two nights at like $110 per room per night.

Gambling - depends on what you're in to. We had people on our trip who were between -$800 and +$150 at the tables. But I've had other friends who have paid for their entire trip with their winnings to being up +$2800 on other trips.

Shows - again depends on what you're interested in seeing and what you're willing to pay. I saw "Mystere", one of the Cirque de Soleil shows (the original Vegas production) at Treasure Island from the 2nd row for $100 for my ticket. Going to see "Love" or "O" or "Ka" which are all newer shows, will cots you more. Of course better seats will equal more cash. Look online for which shows you're interested in seeing and how much they are. I'd highly recommend "Mystere" though.

Buying stuff...really up to you. Strip clubs are expensive, t-shirts and the like aren't.

Food: Vegas is expensive for food and booze. I'd budget at least $30 dollars per meal, just to be on the safe side. Just because you budget that, doesn't mean you'll spend that, but it's good to have that idea of things. As far as meals go, I'd recommend 'Nine Fine Irishmen' in New York, New York - probably the best meal I've ever eaten, and the buffet at the Bellagio. I spent about $50 on appetizer, meal, dessert and drinks at Nine Fine Irishmen, but it was worth it - just don't get the Baily's Creme Brulee.

As far as booze goes, when we went in May of 2005, it was pretty much standard every where we went that beers were either $8 or $9 a piece, well drinks were $10, and premium drinks were $11 or $12 (made coming back to our college town for the summer seem really cheap which was awesome). Everyone always makes a big deal about how if you gamble enough you'll drinks for free, but at most casino's you'll be lucky to get 2 drinks per hour while you're gambling.

Strip clubs are expensive and money flys away quickly. It's really up to you as to what you'd expect to spend. Some guys on my trip spent as much as $500 over the course of 2 trips to the strip clubs while some (me) didn't go to any strip clubs at all the entire time we were there (I've been to plenty before).

I'd recommend that depending on your vice (booze, gambling, strip clubs) you expect to spend between $1000 and $1500 for a 4 day 3 night trip. It'll depend on what your main expense is and how many people you have in a hotel room (we had a total of 11, so it was 5 in one room and 6 in the other - super cheap for sure), and how cheap your flight is. Total, I spent about $1000 for the trip, mostly on booze and food. I didn't gamble much, I didn't go to the strip clubs, and I only went to the one show. Other people in my group gambled much more, went to the strip club more, went to more shows, or went sky diving to add to their costs. I was probably #1 when it came to booze though...
