College in Ireland?

I want to study either Hospitality or Int'l Business and someone suggested I try American College Dublin in Ireland.
Does anyone know anything about them? I found a website Irish American University but I was hoping to get some info from people here on the forum.
Do they have a summer program? Will my credits transfer if I want to come back to the US???

Please Help

I think for these questions, I would get directly in contact with the school, especially regarding credits. It would be good to note that Dublin (and the rest of the Irish Republic) =/= the United Kingdom.

If you cannot even work out which country you would be studying in, possibly studying abroad is not for you.

This is the United Kingdom forum. Dublin is in the Republic of Ireland, it is NOT part of the United Kingdom.

The school is about 20 years old and is effectively a US school with campuses in Dublin and Delaware. They only offer the business courses (they used to offer psych as well but lost their accreditation). They are officially a non-profit, but there was an uproar a few years ago when it came out that the president was one of the most highly paid “university” presidents, earning many millions/year. It is not respected in Ireland- it is not considered a ‘real’ university. It is however, considered a place where the most important admissions requirement is your ability to pay, esp. for US students (to be fair, that is gossip- I don’t have first hand info on that). It is also a back door into the US, as you can do ‘study abroad’ there. Note that the ‘campus’ (which is in a great location) is just the building- there is no housing, no otside space (though there is a nice park across the street), and virtually no extracurricular activities or resources.

Onviously, we don’t know what your priorities are, but if you want to go to Ireland, Trinity College Dublin and University College Dublin are both internationally ranked (and TCD internationally known), and they are not that hard to get into as an American. Either would be streets ahead of American College as an experience as well as academically.

btw, not ignoring that the Republic of Ireland is not part of the United Kingdom, but will point out that there is no Ireland thread (go figure?! and Irish people think that all Americans are obsessed with Ireland! But I digress
) so I am being uncharacteristic ally charitable and guessing that the OP was hoping for some regional spillover :-)
