Is college like how it is in the movies, with constant parties...and beer...and music. Or is it more laid back and peaceful. I don't think I could study with the type of college you see in the movies.

For the most part, no.

Although certain colleges might come close, especially depending on who you hang out with.

there's always gonna be parties. but if you don't want to go to them, they're not going to be all in your face. you can always go to the library when you need quiet =) depends on your dorm i guess ;)

I wish college was more like the movies.

You can make your college experience exactly how it is like in the movies (especially at Michigan State/other huge schools with large party/drinking scenes). But you can make it however you want it as well. For everyone who is a crazy partier there is another student who is laid-back and would much rather prefer to chill. It's not too difficult to accomplish both. If you care about studying more, I'd 1) go to the library, 2) go to a study lounge, 3) get on an honors or quiet floor. There you are more likely to find people similar to you

In movies, people go to maybe one or two classes and somehow have too much free time on their hands. I wish it were like that for real, but I have hours and hours worth of reading instead. -_-

Depends on what you want college to be. I go to a fairly large public school which has a bit of a reputation for partiers--and I've carved out my quiet niche on an Honors floor. Fa-la-la-lena has good advice when it comes to honors/quiet floors!

I kind of a want a balance of both, but from what I've heard, a hang over and college classes don't go well together.

^That's what a weekend is for. =)

The movies are rarely correct about anything, although I'm sure there's a crowd in every party school that sees those movies and tries to turn their college experience into that.
