Hi, I'm a rising senior and I'm beginning to concern about what colleges I should be applying to, therefore, I need some information on Colleges-

Does anyone have any sites that has the STATISTICs and RANKINGs of Colleges based on different majors? ( I checked US NEWS, but they only have informations on a few majors about GRADUATE schools )

I could ask for advices on what colleges I can apply to based on the major, but I think it would be better for me to see the information myself

Rankings are a tricky business. I don't trust them, because they take into account all sorts of things, and the top rated colleges might not fit to the individual's wants in the end. Go to collegeboard.com for statistics on admissions, mean SATs, and popular majors.

I found it was best to ask for recommendations for colleges known for a major, then to research them. Or you could start out looking for the sort of college you want (LAC or University, Urban or rural, small or big, by location in the country) and then figure out which has the best program that you want.

The Gourman Report ranks colleges by major but it is criticized because in favors universities over LACs, especially favors public universities.

Rugg's Recommendations on the Colleges rates colleges by major and level of selectivity and size. The rankings are in broad tiers. Rugg's is unscientific.

College Finder recommends colleges by major.
Gourman, Rugg's, and College Finder are all books, not online.

The US News Best Colleges ranks U-G engineering, business. The US News Grad School rankings are available by major and might reflect the quality of the undergrad program but LACs lose out if you go by grad school rankings

College Confidential is a great source. There is a lot of collective expertise. Post your interests and stats and listen to the discussion.

These are ways to get started. In the end, you have to do your research and choose what is best for you.
