This is the second time that I know of for sure that my college has released my loans but "forgot" to release my pell grant money. So all my tuition and books come out of my loan and they still have my pell grant money and I am left with a measly little bit of money to live on until they straighten it out... Every quarter this seems to happen and I have to raise a big fuss to get them to correct it. I know I am not the only one this happens to each quarter because I was working in student services as a work study and seen it first hand, and I know there are students who don't understand what is happening and they are not getting that money at all! Am I wrong to feel like this is a way of sneakily trying to steal the pell money??

Loan amounts stay the same no matter how many credits you have, as long as you are at least half time. On the other hand, Pell grants vary based on the number of credits you are enrolled in. It is possible that your school has a policy of not releasing Pell funds until the end of the drop/add period - that way, students do not get refunds based on a higher level of enrollment than they end up with when drop/add is over.
