College Kickstart worth $80?

I just stumbled across this last night, and am debating buying it. To be honest I have tracked down quite a bit of the info they have already, but it seems to have it laid out in a much easier to find format, especially as we get to the point we are narrowing down the list. For example, easy to see admit rates and essay requirements. Plus if there is a school we hadn’t considered, I don’t have to track down their CDS and admissions page to get info, and I don’t have to check and see if more recent info has been posted, they do it for me.

I know that several people have mentioned that they have it through their school. Do you find it helpful, both in constructing the list and in getting the application process organized, or is it not worth it? It’s kind of hard to figure that out without having access. If I had 24 hours to play with it I could answer my own question.

Thanks for any input.

Our school is trying it out and so far the reviews (by the counseling team) are not positive. Most familiar with the “grading” of the student’s list and strategies vs ED and RD. I am unsure how it works for making a list or application organization. Our counselors feel the “grades” are very different vs actual results for our school. For example: graded a student’s list a C+ and the student had 100% acceptance ??? Sounds more like an A  to me.

Our school uses Scoir for the organization side.

Our school used it for the first year last year. The Counselor liked it but said she found it to be on the conservative side of chancing and said not to worry too much about the grading for your list (doesn’t require an A grade). On the other hand, it seems a little too optimistic to me based on what I have read here on CC.
