I am a junior in high school and since sophomore year I've been getting mail from cool colleges like Brown etc. I was wondering: do all students get these invitations to events and informative guides? I wanna know if they specifically pick certain people because of PSAT score etc or if everyone gets invited to events.
I've gotten informative events invitations from Duke, Penn, Emory, etc.

You may not have noticed but your parents probably get credit card apps, mortgage adjustment solicitations, store catalogues, charity solicitations. Marketing is a very broad industry and lots and lots of resources are expended by organizations to target the right potential audience. Some are based on spending patterns, some based on just your zip code. For HS students, PSAT is one of the main nuggets of info that college admissions offices use.

Right now, as a senior, I’m getting 3-6 9x12 envelopes a day, plus several regular sized envelopes. I am the only person in the house that gets mail anymore. And that’s not counting email.
