I know that in most engineering majors, there are a lot more males than females. What college majors tend to have a lot more females than males? Anyone know of a list that shows a ranking?

Nursing, Education, English - most liberal arts majors.

*This year, majors that attract significantly more males than females include: economics (137 male, 22 female), physics (34 male, 12 female), and political science (71 male, 27 female).

Majors declared by more women than men include: History of Art (24 female, 5 male), Psychological and Brain Sciences (101 female, 50 male), public health (189 female, 82 male), and Writing Seminars (69 female, 20 male).*

Gender ratio imbalance persists in many majors - News & Features

Woman's Studies
Fashion Design
Nursing
Education
Communications?

That's a guess but it sounds right...

Biology tends to also get a very large share of girls for a science, and it chemistry the ratio tends to be closer to 50/50. Physics is pretty much the opposite of bio.

Social Sciences (sociology, psychology, anthropology)
English/Creative Writing/Journalism
Nursing/Public Health/Biology
Education
Social Work
Women's Studies/Ethnic Studies
Communication Studies
Art History

Physician assistant programs seem to have a much higher ratio of female students. It was 90/10 at the schools my son considered. He's going to love it!

I will also note that, if there are particular schools that you are interested in, some schools make the stats on the gender breakdown of each major public (my alma mater does). That would allow you to see how it would be at the individual schools.
