Hey,
I recieved an email that said i had to finish a supplemental if i applied to any of the selected engineering majors. So I was wondering… If my math grades werent the best during my high school history (C in precalculus), and I took AP Statistics instead of AP Calc this year, would this heavily affect my admission chances? I got a 34 on the ACT for Math, and a 29 composite, if that helps…but they dont have a spot for you to list your ACT score.
Thanks alot everyone!

They should already be able to see your ACT scores anyway. What kind of engineering did you apply to? Mech E’s math requirements i.e. (taking calc) could be different from Computer Engineering, but this is my own pure speculation.

I really don’t know how it would affect your chances, but if your other credentials are strong, I can’t expect the C to kill you.

Does anyone know how to fill out the app exactly? What do I put for course number, and do I put the name of the course as it is on my transcript?

That supplement is something else! WAY more work than SLO. Is this new?

@annamal1993… yeah hopefully it wont destroy my chances…im planning on calling the offices to understand what they really require for the supplements…

@Shrinkrap…seriously!!! I think this is new… i dont recall past applicants going through this…

I dont understand how to fill it out. Its asking for my highest level? and my course number? Theres no such thing for my high school.

You should have taken AP Calculus instead of AP Statistics. I don’t think ACT is mandatory. Only your SAT reading and math scores.

A minimum of a 550 for the SAT and a 23 on the ACT are required. The average might be slightly higher, but your 34 on the ACT is pretty robust.

So what are high school folks putting for “highest level” and “course number”? I suppose “honors” might be appropriate.

On your transcript should be the course number. I tried turning in my app but all it keeps saying is “data was not stored.”!!! and the offices are closed until Jan 3rd ):

Uhm well im a high school senior. so there is no course number far as i know…

Son got “data not stored” too. When we hit submit agsin (form was now black) it said “submitted’”. Great. Maybe the first one was over the word limit. Voicemail for the telephone number included was full.

So what will your son do now? I’m getting worried because the deadline is jan 10th…

He emailed, but got a response that said call.

He’s pretty fed up, but I will encourage him to call on the 3rd. We kept a “word” copy of the application, so I hope he will be willing to entrr the info again, if the send him a way of doing it.

So has anyone figured out how to fill out the application? Because I am lost at when it says my highest level taken.

I liked the facebook page and went through it, but there is nothing that helps with my problem. Please someone help me asap!

Have you tried calling the number in post #12? I tried, but didn’t get anywhere. Honesty, I don’t think what you put in the boxes regarding highest level or course number will make that much difference. Too much confusion. My sons form is available again (last week it said “submitted”) so we will try again, paying attention to the word count.

I called them, but it is just a dumb machine talking. I can’t get through to a representative and I do not know what else to do. What in the world do I put for the highest level taken? For the course number, I have 2 different course numbers for the first semester and the second semester of the class. And for grade received, do I put the grade from first semester or second semester?

THIS IS SOOO STRESSFUL!

I would put the second semester, and/or whatever grade is better, and don’t worry! At this point, they must know they messed up on that supplement. I am pretty sure they are are just trying it out as a tool and won’t be rigid about it’s use.

Ok. But 1 more question. If i took honors biology and i got a B, do i put a A? Because I thought a B is a A and a C is a B.

“We” are putting a B for an B. It’s only “an A” in terms of calculating a weighted GPA.
