<p>I’ve heard many good things about the College of Engineering at UCD. Am thinking aboout the Materials Science and Engineering major. Any insight or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Also, is the Engineering School impacted or harder to get into than the other majors?</p>

<p>Do you think I have a chance to get in with:</p>

<p>GPA: 3.81, top 10% in Bay Area HS, 7 APs and 2 Honors courses
SAT: 1700, Reading 480, Math 650, Writing 570
SAT2: Math 2 600, Physics 530
Fair amount of ECs: varsity sports, community service, working, some awards, etc.</p>

<p>Your SAT is a bit on the low side, consider retaking it and raising it. But overall you have a solid chance!</p>

<p>I'm not sure if their engineering is impacted, but to stay on the safe side, let's just say it is. Your GPA is great, but you need to bump up your SAT 1 scores at least.</p>

<p>i would think their engineering is impacted because they're the only UC that does not allow UC intercampus visitors to take engineering classes whatsoever. ...but that's a loose connection.</p>
