Right now, as a senior, I'm thinking of majoring in chemical engineering or nanoengineering at UCSD, or ChemE at UCSB and CalPoly San Luis Obisbo.

Could I get into their schools of Engineering with my scores/GPA?

GPA: 4.22
SAT: 1880 (I'm taking it again in October... hopefully this will improve to 2000)
ACT: Will take in October

AP Classes I have taken: Spanish, US History, European History, Language and Composition
AP Classes I'm taking: Economic, Calc AB

In high school for science I took chemistry, physiology, and right now I'm taking honors biomedical science and plan to take a college course in Human Biology in the spring semester (the Chemistry course conflicts with my schedule).

I didn't get a chance to take physics my senior year, so I'm also worried that they will reject me because of my lack of a physics background.

My ECs are pretty lacking.... I played Soccer for freshman to junior year and since junior year I work part time 15+ hours per week.

Also, I noticed UCSC doesn't have a ChemE undergrad...what would be the best substitute major for that if I'm interested in leaning towards the biological area of ChemE?

To me at least, it looks like it's going to be a bit of a reach that I get into engineering at these schools. If I don't, what might be another valuable degree to pursue? I'm interested in physiology, neuroscience, math, and pharmacology
