Could I get into the UC's for engineering?

Right now, as a senior, I'm thinking of majoring in chemical engineering or nanoengineering at UCSD, or ChemE at UCSB and CalPoly San Luis Obisbo.

Could I get into their schools of Engineering with my scores/GPA?

GPA: 4.22
SAT: 1880 (I'm taking it again in October... hopefully this will improve to 2000)
ACT: Will take in October

AP Classes I have taken: Spanish, US History, European History, Language and Composition
AP Classes I'm taking: Economic, Calc AB

In high school for science I took chemistry, physiology, and right now I'm taking honors biomedical science and plan to take a college course in Human Biology in the spring semester (the Chemistry course conflicts with my schedule).

I didn't get a chance to take physics my senior year, so I'm also worried that they will reject me because of my lack of a physics background.

My ECs are pretty lacking.... I played Soccer for freshman to junior year and since junior year I work part time 15+ hours per week.

Also, I noticed UCSC doesn't have a ChemE undergrad...what would be the best substitute major for that if I'm interested in leaning towards the biological area of ChemE?

To me at least, it looks like it's going to be a bit of a reach that I get into engineering at these schools. If I don't, what might be another valuable degree to pursue? I'm interested in physiology, neuroscience, math, and pharmacology

UW GPA? They’re all definitely reaches–CoE at Berkeley and Jacobs at UCSD are both incredibly hard to get into, and I’ve heard that Cal Poly SLO is even harder to get into than Berkeley for some engineering majors.

Have you participated in any clubs? Does your work experience lend to your interests?

What is your UC GPA? That major might not be an impacted major at UCSD. Google for impact majors at UCSD.

My UC GPA is 4.22, unweighted it is 3.9. Yes I checked and all engineering is impacted, which is why I’m having a hard time figuring out what my closest alternative would be

I think in the past UCSD will accept you to undeclared if you are not accepted to the impacted major or a non-competitive one.

Cal Poly Slo doesn’t have chem E. They have materials engr. or biomedical engr.

For SLO engineering:

avg GPA: 4.12
avg ACT: 32
avg SAT: 1406 (out of 1600)

Your UC GPA looks competitive but your SAT needs some improvement. Aim for a score of 2100+ for UCSD and SLO. You are a match at UCSB/UCD/UCI/UCSC and UCR would be a safety. Good Luck
