Hi,

I applied for admission to Penn's College of General Studies in Fall 2007 and was declined. I am going to take some courses at a CUNY school this summer to build some credit and reapply. But I recently heard of the CLEP exams, and they look interesting. I think I could do well on a couple of those. In addition to Penn, I'm applying to Temple University and American University, and I know they grant CLEP credit, but I'm not clear about Penn. I think Penn, the regular school doesn't, but collegeboard.com specifically lists Penn College of General Studies with its code as granting CLEP credit. But when I contacted the school, they first said Penn doesn't accept that, then they didn't know when asked specifically about the CGS. I then asked about maybe exempting from certain classes (I know you still have to get the credits, but I could fill those with other classes), or advanced standing, or whatever, and didn't really get any good information. While I wait to hear back, I'm wondering if anyone here has any good information? Or who I can get in touch with that does? If there's any other information I can give you to help answer my question, I'll gladly do that. Thanks!
