Does choosing a major in the UC application website when applying to the College of L&S change the chance of admission? I understand that once you get admitted into the College of L&S you are undecided and can only choose a major after a few terms. But does that mean choosing any major when you apply also doesn’t matter? Does choosing a major in CS really give you the same admission chance as choosing a major in Celtic Studies?
The College of L&S does not admit by major. The competitive majors such as Econ/CS etc… have pre-req and GPA requirements to complete prior to declaring the major. You can select any major however upon reviewing your application, admissions could be suspicious if you select Celtic studies when all your EC’s are CS focused. Select the major you want to pursue for the next 4 years and avoid in trying to game the system.
