I got an email from that I was offered a place in the University Fellows program. The email says this is a highly selective program but it also says it's the honors that is the best fit for me. Does this mean that I was denied from other honors programs or is this a really great program?

I don't really know anything about this program.

Could someone please tell me more information about it?

My D got the same email and I have the same question. I can find information about it on UT’s College of Natural Sciences webpage, but it’s not an honors program I’ve heard of before. I’m obviously happy she got into an honors program, but I’d like to understand it in the context of the other Honors options.

I did some digging and believe that University Fellows was formerly TIP Fellows, not to be confused with TIP Scholars (a freshman program). See [Texas Interdisciplinary Plan](http://cns.utexas.edu/academics/tip). You can google TIP Fellow Texas if the link does not post properly.

It looks like previously it was just an interdisciplinary program between COLA and CNS, and this is the first year CNS made it the Honors program

I was accepted into this program as well. Does anyone know if it is “worth it”? It doesn’t look like it does much for your science degree in the form of research/internship/honors opportunities on the level of Dean’s or HSH.
