Also from an urban city and a HS with 4,000+ kids in MA

Has anyone heard?

@bay2714 not yet because I haven’t officially applied! What are your stats?

No, have you?

@jackxoxo hi! Don’t worry - I was at HC yesterday for Perspectives and an admissions counselor told me they’d be beginning looking at apps today. It should be about a month. Same for you @bay2714! If you don’t mind me asking, what are your stats @jackxoxo?

@masscatholicgirl I’d rather not share everything but I have a 4.2/4 weighted GPA and I spoke to an admissions counselor as well and most people who apply from my school ED hear back in the next week because we applied early October!! Best of luck to you!

It is my D who has applied- in October. GPA 4.3 weighted, good EC, volunteer service, work experience and recommendations.

@bay2714 @jackxoxo Did you submit scores?

Good luck to you all!!!

@wisteria100 no, I did not submit scores!

Hi everyone! Very nervous awaiting the decision from HC… but more nervous about financial aid! I applied on October 30, 2015 - but my school has yet to submit my First Quarter Grades but a lot of the time the ED office doesn’t necessarily base their decision off of them! (Plus, my counselors [college and guidance] both have work experience with advancement and admissions at HC)

Some comparable stats:
•I go to a Catholic school in Boston, MA.
•GPA (because we don’t do the 4.0 scale): 100.75/100.
•RANK: Fourth in my class/~120 students
I DID submit scores:
•SAT: 1980
•ACT (Super-Composite): 30
•8 AP Courses under my belt, including a 5 on AP US History and a 4 on AP Spanish Lang.
•Exclusively Honors and AP courses from freshman year to senior year, including an independent study partnered with the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the Senate this year.

Some honors included:
•Brown University Book Award 2015,
•National Honor Society Member, President of the World Language Honor Society, Rho Kappa National Social Studies Honor Society Member, National Speech and Debate Association Honor Society Member (Outstanding Distinction)
•National Catholic Forensics League National Declamation Finalist 2013
•National Speech and Debate Association National Prose Finalist 2015
•Massachusetts Speech and Debate League State Declamation Champion 2013
•Six-time State Finalist (MSDL), Four-time National Qualifier (NCFL, NSDA)
•2015 AP Scholar

I submitted two teacher recommendations and one counselor recommendation… Hopefully hearing back soon!

Wow, @wolfe98 – I wouldn’t worry! You seem much more qualified than I! You have a fantastic resume under your belt

My D got the call today. Accepted. We are thrilled!

Congrats @wisteria100 ! What time did they call you? When did you submit your app? Also did you submit 1st quarter grades?

They called her late afternoon. She submitted scores and sent grades. All her materials were received by early Nov.

Congrats! That is wonderful.

Congrats to your D @wisteria100! I hope to get in as well so I can meet her!

Congrats, wisteria100! I applied late October but didn’t get all my materials in until early November. Fingers crossed I’ll hear from them soon! In case people are interested, here are my stats:

•I go to a pretty small Catholic school near Boston, MA.
•GPA 4.3 weighted
•RANK: N/A my class is veryyy small
•SAT: 2080
•5 AP Courses, including a 4 on AP US History (that one DBQ threw me off a little lol), a 4 on AP Latin: Vergil, and a 5 on AP English Composition Literature
•Almost exclusively Honors and AP courses from freshman year to senior year. If not AP or Honors, the classes were accelerated. My school is small so there is a bit of a limit as to how many advanced courses we can actually take. I’m also currently teaching myself AP Psych so hopefully I can take the AP Exam in May. We’ll see how that goes.

Plenty of ECs (drama, chorus, parish youth council, volunteer service for school), tons of volunteer work outside of school, one summer’s worth of work experience, 4 years on the honor roll, leading scorer on my school’s soccer team, member of the basketball team, three-time National Latin Exam Award winner, and a member of the NHS. My essay was mainly centered around my disability and maintaining a positive attitude in face of adversity.

There’s probably some other things I forgot to put down but that’s what comes to mind right now. Best of luck to all of you! Hopefully I’ll meet a few of you someday soon

has anyone else heard back yet?
