I am admitted to both colleges and do not get any FA. William and Mary is cheaper and is coed. Bryn mawr college has better location and maybe better academic opportunities( I mean the tri-cos). It is hard to decide. Any advice?

My D, now a W&M senior, had narrowed her choice to those two. Since we’re in-state Va, and the weather in Wmsburg is friendlier, it came down to financial considerations. She’s never looked back, since W&M has offered everything she wanted (and no additional phys ed and language requirements). Although there was much about Bryn Mawr that appealed to her, she wasn’t convinced that the taking courses at the other schools would really happen much in practice, and there are lots of academic, research, and other opportunities at William and Mary (not that she’s taken advantage of all of them…)

Whatever you decide, all the best!

Certainly two different institutions but both great. While W&M doesn’t offer the opportunity to take classes at other institutions (with the obvious exception of study abroad) we do have an amazing array of courses offered here on campus as well as opportunities for independent study and research which allows students to really direct their curriculum. Additionally, the ability to continually take classes on campus allows our students to connect with faculty and establish significant mentoring relationships that oftentimes develop a social component as well. Students here find the faculty very accessible and oftentimes take multiple classes with the same professor out of pure enjoyment of their teaching style.
