College people who can vote...

If only Ron Paul could get the vote =(

wow this makes me wonder a big chunk of college students are democrats? I dont consider ron paul a republican btw. 21 posts and 1 vote for a republican.

I'm not goin to vote for a single democrat no matter who the nominee is. actually lemme take that back if somehow ron paul makes it and the DNC nominee is someone like richardson or biden i might but thats unlikely

The democrats try to please everyone did u see hilary actually said that she doesn't support social healthcare but instead that is the far right attack that's been used against her. ok .....

Im a registered independent who wud have voted for the democrats in Nov '06 (wasnt 18) cuz of their stance on social issues, increasing pell, cutting student loans interest rates and was happy when they won.

How bout Clybourne whoever he is saying that if we start winning the war in Iraq that wud be bad for the democrats. huh? how about wats best for the country not politics.

Comments like that and their overwhelming support for the immigration bill and social healthcare make me look to the republican party.

Ron Paul as well.

Ron Paul because I am a libertarian. However, I'm pro-choice, but abortion is always a divisive issue with us libertarians.

I'm not particularly thrilled with any of the candidates but Obama seems to have a fresh take on things which would be nice. All I know is that I wouldn't vote for Hillary if someone had a gun to my head.

Barack Obama. He's not perfect, but he will bring the US together more than any other candidate. It's laughable that people talk about Obama's "lack of experience", but neglect everyone else. Giuliani? He was the freaking mayor of New York, and now you want to make him president(add to the fact that most New Yorkers hate him and he rides completely off of his 9/11 crap image). Edwards had ONE Senate term. Mitt Romney had ONE term as governor. It's amazing how "major" candidates like Edwards, Romney, and Giuliani don't get knocked for lack of experience but Obama who has been in politics since 1996 gets idiots saying that is the reason they won't vote for him. Either they just don't know the facts, or they have a real reason why they don't want to vote for him and just don't want to say.

There are no republicans that appeal to me in this election. Ron Paul is a great shakeup to the typical republican but I still disagree with him strongly on many issues(and really, I'm not THAT liberal economic wise).

^^^ I agree with everything said here.

Um...Obama has even less?

Ya, Obama has been in the ILLINOIS legislature since 1996. He only recently joined FEDERAL politics in 2005.

Edwards is ok. Putting aside his private life, he seems like an honest politician (misnomer?) and has had a solid senate run.

Romney...hmm, how do I say this. Mormon...just can't put one in the White House, sorry.

Giuliani has been in politics since the 80's. He had one hell of a run as Mayor. The only thing I don't like was the funding for education. Education should be the number 2 priority in this country.

I've never even heard of this Ron Paul character...I'll comment after I read up on him.

I don't like Ron Paul (I have 2 candidates I'm supporting), but I will choose him over a Dem.

Anyone but a democrat. All they have done is whine, but have absolutely no vision for this country IMHO. Also, Clinton had how many years to make improvements to this country? And what did she do...nothing.

Flame me all you want, because I'm not going to come back to this thread.

I'm still torn between Obama and Clinton. I used to be leaning towards Obama a lot but I'm slowly changing to Clinton as I see past the bs lies about her image (ppl saying she's a b!tch...which is completely idiotic and unfounded). I NEED to c a dem in office really badly!

I very much dislike all repubs except Rudy for his moral stances (more moderate). I very much dislike Romney...stupid flip flopping fake conservative.

Do you guys realize Ron Paul wants to let states run their schools? That means creationism instead of science in a ton of southern schools (or at least more emphasized) as well as religion based education in the south. Also he holds steadfast to the constitution but is pro-life...that just doesn't make sense to me.

Ron Paul.

I said I wouldn't come back to this thread but I need to emphasize this:

Whoever you choose to vote for, please let your choice be an informed one and don't base it on something stupid like "John Edwards is handsome, so I'm going to vote for him".

First, he's not handsome gags and second, it's irrelevant.

Ron Paul is 100% insane. I am aghast that anyone would take him seriously.

Although I would prefer either Obama or Edwards to Clinton, I think she'll get the nomination. Blahhh.

Yeah, you're right, since he's in the state legislature he knows nothing and is completely inexperienced. Let's look at this again. Edwards ONE term, so he has 6 years to Obama's 4 by election. But at the same time, Obama was in the state legislature learning the process while Edwards was strictly a lawyer not involved in politics. But you're right, that somehow balances out(not).

Romney is a mormon, so you can't elect him? What is wrong with you? It's one thing to not vote for someone due to issues, but because of their religion? I'm an atheist, should I just not vote for anyone since I disagree with their religion completely? Grow up.

Now to Giuliani. True, he was a US Attorney(a non-elected position). Then he served as a mayor. A mayor. If you want to tell me that somehow "running"(New York's city council plays a huge role as well) a city qualifies you as president, I'd have to probably disagree. But either way, he had a hell of a run? Crime was decreasing as he came into office, and he created a blatantly racist police force to "clean up" the city. New York is much safer than it was 20 years ago. It would be crazy to give Giuliani the credit for this(considering the fact that crime was on the decline when he came into office). Besides that, he is hated in New York. NYFD does not support him and blame him and his policies for many uncessesary deaths that occured to their squads on 9/11. The only reason he can get elected is because he was the mayor when 9/11 happened, took up EVERY media possibility to get his name out there, and that's that. Add on to the fact that his entire campaign is regarding terrorists and 9/11(aka an attempt to keep America as a scared society in order to give the government more power) and almost nothing else, he's a scary candidate. Still, I'm not sure how being the mayor when NY was attacked makes you a great presidential candidate.

What you mean to say is Ron Paul follows the constitution and is for a smaller federal government.

This is a great statement. Do not vote for a candidate simply because they are a democrat or republican. Do not just not vote for Clinton because she is a "*****" or not vote for Romney because he is Mormon. Do not write out Obama because his name means he is a Muslim and terrorist(despite the fact that he's a Christian, many people still think he's Muslim), and do not disown Giuliana because he's bald. Use real reasons.

What I mean to say is that Ron Paul is absurdly isolationist.

(I also detest his anti-abortion stance, although I don't consider that wacky, just obnoxious.)

hate to admit it, but whoever said that Romney won't get elected because he's a mormon is absolutely right. JFK was the only president in history that wasn't protestant. and even then people we were worried about him letting the pope run the country. our society is not gonna vote for a mormon (we're probably to afraid that he'll legalize polygamy or something- as stupid as that sounds i've heard people say this), doesn't matter if his ideas are great or not. we are too deeply entrenched in the protestant ideals we were founded on.

"Also he holds steadfast to the constitution but is pro-life...that just doesn't make sense to me."

Just to clarify, although Ron Paul is personally pro-life he does not support a federal government pro-life stance. He believes that the abortion issue should be handled in accordance with the 10th amendment which states that "The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved for the States respectively, or to the people," meaning that it should be a state, not a federal issue.

Bill Bradley should run again.
