I am going to be contacting some teachers for letters of rec for college. I am debating between my public speaking teacher from a community college class I took or my APLang teacher from last year. Both I had during my junior year and both I have good relationships with. They are also both very experienced teachers.
Which would look better to colleges? A recommendation from a college prof or a high school teacher?
I think it would be whichever one you know best. Also, HS teachers may have more practice at writing letters than CC profs, which is something to take into account.
Usually colleges ask for recommendation letters from teachers who taught you in core subjects. AP English is a core subject but I’m not sure public speaking is.
Agree with the above. I’d probably go with the APLang teacher as 1) it is a core subject and 2) the HS teacher is likely more used to writing college LORs.
