you know how princeton review writes about a college and then on the bottom has this subject requirement and recommendation- is it neccessary to follow the req.? i.e. one of colleges reviewed by p.r. says that i need at least 3 years of foreign language. is that true? is it critical that i have 3 years?

Does your school OFFER 3 or 4 yrs of a foreign language? I can see why a selective college might question your academic drive (and therefore your likely admission) if something as basic as foreign language wasn't undertaken for the minimum of 3 yrs.

How much of a HARD requirement is it? Go to the respective colleges' individual sites and see. Or once the admission season is over, call their admissions office. Maybe you have extenuating circumstances, maybe your school doesn't offer 3 yrs and only two.

If it's just that you slacked and weren't serious until later on, then you need to bulk up and show that you have the academic drive that the super selectives are looking for. Maybe take comm college lang this summer?

good luck to you

i guess its that i'm sorta slacking off. im a junior and i dropped chinese this year. so i've completed 2 years so far. i didn't even schedule that class for my senior year because 2 years is meeting my h.s. graduation criteria. the reason i don't want to take the class is because it's too hard and the teacher is really annoying. but if i must i'd think i'll consider taking the class at my community college. will colleges look differently if i took the class at my community college
