Hi I’m looking for a college and I need help! I’m from the Midwest but I’m not sure I want to go to my own state’s public university! I’m not completely set on a certain size of school but if I had to choose I would say on the larger side. My GPA is a 3.9 unweighted and I have 10 AP classes. I have not yet taken the ACT/SAT and I participate in many sports/clubs. I do not want to go to a very liberal school. I am looking for a more preppy atmosphere but it is not required! I want the school to have a Greek life and sports teams! I am looking for schools anywhere in the country! Please give me suggestions! Thank you so much!
It’s difficult to make realistic suggestions with no knowledge of your test scores, but UVA and Miami Ohio both sound like what you’re looking for.
bucknell university
vanderbilt university
hillsdale college
wake forest
you will still have loopy professors in the non stems(minus probably hillsdale) but the students will be more tolerant and open minded than say at a school like haverford or uc-Berkeley
Look south. There are lots of great southern schools that are both preppy, have a strong Greek presence, and aren’t especially liberal. Vanderbilt and Wake Forest come immediately to mind. Elon and UVA. College of Charleston might make a good safety.
Second Elon. Washington & Lee. SMU. University of Richmond.
How much is your family willing to pay?
Small or large? Wofford is great small school with loyal alumni. Honors college at U of SC best of both worlds. I really hope you aren’t rising senior. Waiting this long before taking ACT/SAT is risky - you’ll really only have one shot in fall if you are a senior.
Washington & Lee. College of Charleston. Clemson. Ole Miss. Southern Methodist.
Im a rising Junior!
UMiami in Florida, and Miami-Oxford in Ohio
Bucknell - small, but strong Greek life and D1 sports.
Davidson.
