@skieurope any comments?
You have an intriguing background. I honestly can’t say what schools are within your reach because I have not examined any data specific to international students. Are there any resources within India that may be able to give you a sense as to where you might fit?
Using just my intuition, I think you should try the big schools, which includes Ohio State and Purdue, as well as University of Texas, Arizona State, University of Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin, maybe the University of Florida and Florida State, etc. A school that admits thousands of foreign students will have the infrastructure in place to help you deal with issues that you may not even think of, as well as other students from around the world who are similar to you (in the sense that they are the first person in their region to attend a university in the U.S. and weren’t sure what to expect). Figure out what schools those are–the link I sent earlier should help. That is probably what I would advise my daughter if she was facing the same decisions. But you are running out of time, so you’ll have to act fast. Best of luck.
@PROFsabi: There are some selective colleges & universities which will accept three SAT subject tests in lieu of the regular SAT or ACT. As your SAT score of 1220 is not good, you should avoid sending them if possible.
Consider asking posters to recommend schools which will accept three SAT subject tests in place of the SAT or ACT. If you submit a 1220 SAT score, you will be rejected and you will not receive any financial aid grants or scholarships. Yet, your two SAT subject test scores are excellent.
