College Search

Wow! A pre-med forum! Cries in joy I've been looking all over the place for some stats that will help me select some colleges to apply to. I've done some reading and it seems as if the best pre-med programs have grade inflation to boost GPA and a history of a high percentage of pre-med students being accepted to med school (only 50% of all prospective doctors make it). So that's what I'm looking for. That, and a school with teachers who care about the students enough to be helpful, not teachers who hand you a book, tell you to memorize, and then send a grad student to teach their class and who are never avaliable during their supposed office hours. I'm planning on doing my pre-med with a double major in biology and philosophy. I want a school that, while it is academic and prepares its students well, isn't so rigrous that I can't afford to have some fun and take a few courses out of curiosity. The pre-med years are all I have for that cause once I hit med school...BOOM...my life will explode, die and disappear. I'm specializing, so I won't have time to do anything but study for eight whole years. So, any links to stats that may list or rank pre-med programs by med-studenT output, prestige, inflation...anthing, opinions or experience, would be helpful.
