College selection advice

I am an international student. I have a very wide range of interest and am performing quite good in one or two of those fields. I am actually looking forward to majoring in Computer Science at the States. If anyone asks me for my qualifications, experience then I have been programming since past 6 years. I am also quite good with Linux and also have had an experience of doing an internship at a university in my own country with the supercomputer(It is the first one in my country). I was basically responsible for managing and installing the Operating system. Athletics-wise, I am a national-tier swimmer. I also perform exceptionally well in my studies with all As and A*s. I am really good at Maths too as the stereotype holds true for us Asians. So, is there any college suggestions for me that has good CS program and also offers a lot of financial aid? I want to include the fact that I don’t perform well in a large classroom. I would prefer it to be very small.

Are you a university student?
Did you take your SAT yet?
How much can your parents afford?
There are only 5 universities in the US that may cover funding for you, but they are the most competitive in the nation and your chances are less than 1% if you have top scores.
Your EC’s, right now, don’t matter.

What do you plan to do with your CS degree when you return to your country? You cannot expect to be employed in the US.

What ^ means is that there are only 5 US colleges that have need blind admissions AND guarantee to meet full need. Of course, those 5 schools are way up there in selectivity for everyone.

You need to do a lot of research to find some realistic possibilities if you are looking for money. You might try some the Net Price Calculators to get some idea if some of these colleges consider you even eligible for aid. THEY, not you, define need.

Check out the swim times for some colleges. If you have US National times, there may be some swim scholarships in the picture. Look up the times their teams are swimming in your events.

If you are a national-tier swimmer, compare your times with those at MIT, Amherst, HYP. Those are need-blind/Meet full need for internationals and you seem to have what they want, so if you were to be at their athletic level it’d be a hook. Check their teams’ times and if you’re in the ballpark, contact the coach with an athletic and academic resume.
