Congrats to all who just got through the application process like myself. i got into several schools and have narrowed it down to 3. I am not entirely sure what I will major in but my top 2 career goals are entering politics or medicine. The schools I have narrowed it down to are:

NYU Liberal Arts/Core (about 10,000 annual merit)
SUNY Binghamton (nothing)
University of Rochester (havent received any merit aid yet but not holding my breath)

will not receive any need based aid so it looks like I will depend on the rents and loans

I have visited all 3 schools and like them equally. Just wondering if I can get your thoughts on how else I should base this decision. Also, any biases you may have are also appreciated

Ok- SUNY Binghamton is an excellent school. Not necessarily in the league of NYU- but still very good. In my opinion, futures in both medicine and politics would be aided by less debt, in order to maximize your flexibility and your ability to achieve those ends (e.g. want to go into the Peace Corps, go to law school/med school, take a low paying internship, you can do so). If you truly liked them all equally, go to Binghamton. Also, if your goal is to be elected to local office in NY, voters like to see their officials going to local/NY schools. (NYC might be slightly different in this regard.)

I agree Binghamton Univ seems to be the smart way to go when you consider the return on investment. I will be taking a 2nd look at NYU next week.
