College Selection - International Student

Hello, everyone.

I am an international student who's interested in applying to the States for the fall '13 intake. Since I'll be requiring a healthy aid package (around 85-90 percent of the comprehensive fee for private colleges), the only option I have is to apply to Ivy Leagues and top 20-25 LACs. I intend to apply to 13 colleges, so I need to short-list colleges for myself.

The primary factor that'll decide my college list is financial aid(hence I'll be applying to only top-ranked schools). I am writing a couple of things about myself so that you guys can help me narrow my the list down to 10-15 colleges.

My intended majors are Physics and Economics, although I would like to experiment with myself by studying pure social sciences, such as Philosophy and International Relations

I'd like to attend a university that's located in a semi-urban/semi-rural area. Nothing on the extreme ends of spectrum.

No preference among the size and student population

I am an introvert, so I'd like a place where I can 'fit in'

Even though I opted for this EC only last year, I'd love to continue it in university. Parliamentary Debates

I'd like to attend a school which academically rigorous and places a high emphasis on research

I want a balanced, yet challenging environment

That's about it, I guess.

I am not even going to post my stats because they have to be top-notch and/or unique for international students.

Anyway, I'd love some suggestions for all you CCers out there.

Anyone, please?
