College Sex: Going Home Alone (Washington Post)

<a href="http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/21/AR2007092101543.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/09/21/AR2007092101543.html</a>

"Either I missed out or everyone else in college isn't having sex at all."

Realistic? What do you think?

As a student at Brown, I can tell you that parents think people are having a lot more sex than they are.

Most people have had sex at this point (I'm a junior now), many in high school, and not many have had sex with more than one (and many have not had sex with anyone) since getting to college that I know in my age group.

People aren't just going around having sex each weekend (sure there are some people hwo are, but that's far from typical).

I know a lot of students at my college who are virgins. I know a lot of students at my college who regularly have "casual" sex. I know a lot of students who fall somewhere in between--people who are in relationships or only have "casual" sex once or twice a quarter. I also know a lot of students who would be very willing to have "casual" sex but for one reason or another don't.

It's stupid to try to generalize this across the entire population of college students.

There's also a big difference in whether or not "hooking up" is defined to include make out sessions. At my college, "hooking up" generally includes making out. At my home town, it doesn't.

I think its some people having ALOT ALOT of sex, while many others are having little to none

and people bragging is not unheard of- telling tall tales to impress

I go to an engineering school where there is not much social life beyond the Greek system. I know both ends of it, and it's pretty much what citygirlsmom said (at least at my school).
