For 2 years, I have been deleting college mails and my mail box has never been full. If someone gave me a 10 dollars for every college mail, I could go to any 4 year college in the World. I would like to create a list of colleges that sends us mail such as, " You _______ are an outstanding student and we want to see your application" with lame titles such as " Apply now". " Scholarships for you". I love colleges that send me a mail on information about their college but most of the emails are just pathetic..... Its just a way for them to get more students to apply so they look better. I would appreciate if we could get a list of colleges known to send spam to fellow high schoolers.

To you it’s spam, to the colleges it’s marketing. What would be the purpose of developing such a list? Some of the recipients of these mailings and emails will be interested enough to take a look and may even find an appealing school that hadn’t previously been on their radar. If that’s not you, just don’t open them.

I get a lot of it, too. Kinda liked the email for a free app to the U of M, though. More options can’t hurt.

I also was rather amused by the letter that I received from some random small christian college (I’m an atheist). It was very enthusiastically toting its year-old science lab, ultimate frisby, and connections to God and Jesus.
