I am currently starting university this fall as a freshman, I was wondering where could I transfer? I am sticking with law right now, but I am leaning towards switching into Computer Science in order to pursue a career in Software Engineering. My ideal situation would be a school that has a small student population, located in a big city, has a lot of financial aid to dispurse, and is able to take a 3.5 or higher gpa transfer for a full ride. My goal is a 3.75 or higher, but I need a 3.5 to keep my scholarships. Thanks in advance.

You may need to stay where you’re at. Transfer students don’t often get much aid or merit scholarships.

If you don’t want to stay where you’re at, then perhaps you need to take a gap year, and then reapply as an incoming frosh to other schools.

Well my best options to transfer are FSU and UF, since they offer cheap tuition for in-state and they accept Florida Bright Futures, so I guess so. What schools are the most transfer friendly?

Many schools are transfer-friendly…but that doesn’t mean that they give great aid or merit.

Cornell gives great need-based aid to accepted transfers. USC in Calif may as well.

Why would you go to college already planning to leave?

I got a seat in graduate school for law when I got accepted as a freshman right now so I said I might give it shot, but I can’t see myself staying there now, I want to go to a better school since I couldn’t get into UF.

I’ve never heard of such a thing. What school is that?
