<p>I'm a rising junior. Some schools I'm looking at are NYU, Cornell(reach), UMich Ross, and the like. I'm looking not only for suggestions here, but also for chances at the aforementioned schools. Check out my stats</p>
<p>GPA: Freshman- 3.55 (bad, i know); Sophomore-3.76
Class Rank~20/roughly 500
SAT: practice test, no studying 1900; Writing 690 CR 660 math 550
Clubs: business and finance club(president), model u.n., model senate, and i might do general student orginization next year
EC's: Baruch Summer Leadership Academy, doing NYU precollege next year, volunteer at local hospital, have been trading stocks and currencies for 3 years
My school doesnt offer any AP courses but i might take the macro AP exam because i already know most of the information from reading books. I'm in all honors classes at my school. I'd like to double major in finance and history and then get a job at a bulge bracket bank after college. I have a legacy with NYU, if that helps.</p>

<p>Finances are important. What state do you live in? Do you know what your parents can afford to pay for college? Will you be eligible for need based financial aid?</p>
<p>Can’t tell much from a practice SAT taken with no studying… you will get more reliable responses once you have a “real” score. Assuming your GPA stays at least around the 3.75 level, you have a good chance at all of those schools IF you have strong SAT scores. But all of the schools you listed are quite expensive. And Ross is fairly difficult to get pre-admitted to.</p>
<p>Thanks for the response! I live in NY(long island) and finances should be taken care of. You’re absolutely right that all those schools are very expensive, but that wont be a determining factor in my decision.</p>
<p>Lots and lots and lots of parents SAY that about the money. Then when they are staring at $60,000/year plus (for a total of almost a quarter of a million dollars just for an undergraduate education), they don’t mean it. You might ask your parents to look at the net price calculator with you for a few of those schools (on the school’s financial aid website).</p>
<p>I appreciate your concern, but trust me, finances will not be an issue. I’d rather not digress into these details for obvious reasons. My family has paid for all my cousins to go to college and they all graduated debt-free. I wont be getting any financial aid lol</p>
<p>Okay. But without “real” test scores (you don’t even have a PSAT yet), no one can give you an accurate “chance” at this time. Generally if your SAT scores fall above the 50% mark on CR and M for a school, your odds are good if your GPA is at least a 3.7 unweighted overall and you have taken the hardest courses offered at your school. Since you are OOS for Michigan, I would shoot for SAT scores well above that 50% mark. </p>

<p>A good source for finding other schools you might be interested in would be the Fiske Guide to Colleges. A couple of hours spent with that book and a packet of post-it notes to mark that ones that interest you is a really good way to find some more colleges that appeal to you.</p>
