What are my chances for
-Columbia (ED)
-Cornell
-NYU (Stern)
-NYU
-UPenn (Wharton)
-John Hopkins (Business)
-Dartmouth
-Boston U
-Rutgers
-SUNY Binghamton

Also, are there any recommendations for colleges that you guys would suit me well? I am looking for a large college with prestige in business. I am looking to major in marketing and finance.

Wow...I am too and I must ask the same question: which of the ivies has prestige in marketing/finance

i no u go to a prestigious school but i dont think top 50% will cut it at many of those schools regardless of ur relatively high SAT. Also, you need some more significant ECs and probably some leadership positions.

I dont have exact numbers as my school does it rank its students but I could well be in the top 25%. Basically, I'm ranked fairly high, but not top 5%.

You'll get much better info from your school. Top schools keep good records on what it's taken in the past to get in from your school.

However, with a below 25% rank, an average SAT for top schools and limited ECs, ivies are doubtful.

Could I get some more input? Im almost sure that my rank is above 25%. I'm also doing more leadership ECs this year. I am also considering making Wharton my ED and considering applying for LEAD at UPenn. Also, 3.8 is my UNWEIGHTED average.

Reach

-Columbia (ED)
-Cornell
-NYU (Stern)
-UPenn (Wharton)
-John Hopkins (Business) <= even this too
-Dartmouth

Reasons:
Low SAT (better than national average, but better than average doesn't cut it for Ivies or Stern)
Low rank
ECs (again above national average, but nothing special)

Its your choice if you want to apply, just be aware of your chances. not much you can do if you are a senior.

Are you Asian? You have the Asian SAT difference (high math, lower verbal).

I say you have a good chance as Johnsyhop and Cornell. You're not a shoe-in, but you're definitely a contender. It doesn't seem like you have very many leadership roles though and you don't seem to stick with a specific activity. My friend got into Cornell with a 25 on her ACTs and a 3.7 GPA. She thinks it was her essays that got her in. She was very passionate about an organization she was a part of.

Haha nice stereotyping angelicdevil.

As for your chances, your SAT score will hurt your chances at most of the schools (especially UPenn and Columbia). Can't really say anything based off your rank since your school is, as you say, the "most prestigious public school" in New York City.

Actually, I'm Chinese and I got 780 Reading and 700 Math.

top 50% - fudge

Are you a troll? There is not one most prestigious public in NYC. Stuy, BX Science, Hunter and a fe others would have something to say here. Your posts on other threads are unrealistic. If you're for real, aim below ivies.

If your school is known nationally the 50 percent is no problem
that if your school is known naitonally or at least known to the colleges you are applying to.
If all else fails just dont list your rank

If your schools produces like 20+ ivies and more like 50 good schools each year you are fine.
