College suggestions

Please help me out here guys. I’m unable to decide on my colleges. My top choice is Grinnell, but I don’t know if it’s right. I require financial aid as I’m not that well off. My statistics are as follows -
SAT - 1450 ( 710 verbal/ 740 maths )
10th grade CGPA - 9.4
11th grade percentage - 73% Deflated (Humanities)
Extra curricular - I’ve judge at 5-6 Model UNs. Attended a total of 23 Model UNs (organizer/judge/delegate) . I was the secretary general for my school’s Model UN conference. I attended Yale Young Global Scholars Program, Singapore in 2016, and I’m attending Yale Young Global Scholars Program in New Haven this July. I received a very good amount of aid for these programs. I was the Deputy Head Boy of my school in 11th grade, and I’m now the President of the Student Council. I’m the district champion in essay writing. My school always prefers me for all sorts of competitions. I make short films and was recently a juror at a film festival. I’m connected to a few international organisations and schools, where I act as their international coordinator and often train students for public speaking. I’ve been a part of my school cricket team since the past 4 years.
I have an exceptional relationship with my teachers and the principal. I can get stellar letters of recommendations.

Kindly help me determine what sort of colleges in US should I aim at.

How much money can you pay towards going to a US college?

I can manage a maximum of $10k per annum

@CaptionRogers Grinnell is an excellent school with very strong international representation. And it’s one of the few with the resources and commitment to offer excellent financial aid for international students. I’ve seen several posts on CC that list additional top American colleges with good financial aid (need based and merit based) for international students. I’m sure you can find them with some advanced searches. Good luck to you.

Thank you so much!

But, what range of colleges should I aim at?

Rather than range of colleges, I’d look first for colleges that give out aid. That’s going to be your main problem. Very few US schools give substantial, if any, aid to international students, so your range of colleges will be limited.

You can google something like, “usa universities with best aid for foreign students”.
