College to College Transferring

Hi everyone,

I haven't visited CMU but it is high up on my list. I plan on applying to the school of Arts and Sciences, but I have many interests and may want to major in business if I find that I enjoy college-level math.

Does anyone have any experiences switching out of schools in CMU and going into others? For instance, is it nearly impossible to transfer into, say, Teppler or the Fine Arts School?

Thanks!

I actually talked to an admissions counselor today on the phone about my situation. I'm applying to Fine Arts and Mellon Sciences hoping to do the inter-college Bachelor of Arts and Sciences degree (you have to be accepted independently by both schools). I told her that I am worried that my chances of being accepted into Science are relatively low and she said that even if I only get into Arts, I can still double major in studio art and biology.

Not sure if that relates well to your question but given her answer I think its relatively simple to take classes and possibly even major in another school's subject.

it's not impossible, it's just how you do once u get to the school. CFA (college of fine arts) will need a portfolio tho.
