College towns w/ low humidity & not freezing winters

I’d like to attend college out of state and am looking for states and/or college towns that don’t have super cold winters and high humidity. I have a hard time standing high humidity, but a little is okay. I’m fine with high temperatures - I’m from Central California and we reach over 100 often during the summer. I’ve been looking at some colleges in Texas but I know it’s pretty humid there. I’d appreciate any input! Thanks!

Come to the bay area. It’s nice here.

Phoenix and Tucson, AZ

Arizona: ASU, U of A, and NAU in Flagstaff (snows in the winter but not super cold).

Keep in mind that you’re in school from late Aug til May. Even states that have humidity often are NOT humid during THOSE times.

Tucson and PHX (mainly Tucson) get crazy monsoons from June-September, but that’s about it for humidity. Winters in Tucson are perfection

U of New Mexico

Thanks for all the info! I’ll definitely look into Arizona and New Mexico!

Houston is humid. Much of the rest of Texas is not so much. It is all relative (no pun intended). If you are from Vegas, all of Texas would seem humid. If you are from Florida, it would all seem a bit dry.

I definitely agree about New Mexico & Arizona. My uncle (who lived in AZ) has said it’s a “dry heat” in these states.

I’d think any school along the west coast or in the Southwest. Even in rainy places like western Oregon and western Washington, it doesn’t feel sticky humid.

I live in California and find that I notice the humidity whenever I’m east of the Rockies…

Flagstaff, mentioned, has an average January low temperature of 15.9 degrees. For comparison, this is colder than Buffalo, New York’s (18.3°).
