Hi,I am a student currently doing o levels in Pakistan.As soon as I’m done doing o levels,i want to move to USA.I want to know if i should be applying for college or university.Also,i can only study in the US if i am offered a scholarship.Please guide me as i am unaware of the education system in the US.I also want to know what are the admission requirements as in should i be taking an SAT exam and what grades should i be getting in prder to get a scholarship.Thanks.
By this, do you mean you need full funding for your education in the US?
In the US, “college” usually means the school only offers undergraduate degrees (for example, bachelor of science, bachelor of arts). “University” typically means they also offer graduate programs (masters, doctorate). So if you are applying as an undergraduate, then you should consider both universities and colleges.
As far as admission requirements, it will depend on the institution, but as an international student you should take the TOEFL or IELTS. Most schools will also require the SAT or the ACT. Many will require the SAT and two Subject Tests or the ACT with Writing.
If you require a large amount of financial aid (scholarships) then your test scores and grades should be very high.
