Hi
MyD22’s school posts College virtual fairs info and registration is to be done using school email address. To manage subsequent email from colleges, follow ups, questions etc , is it better to use a personal email address to interact with colleges or better if school email address is used? don’t want regular school/teacher communication to be mixed up with the marketing mails from colleges. I am wondering what the best practice is? Thanks in advance
My D set up a gmail account just for colleges. Really helped to separate it into a different email as she was inundated.

My suggestion is a dedicated email address for all things related to colleges admission. School emails generally get shut off after graduation…

The volume of emails from colleges will be overwhelming. Many schools purchase email lists from the College Board or ACT. We used one email for College Board/ACT and used the same email to register for any college fair, info session or tour. When it came time to apply for schools, we didn’t want important notifications about missing documents, financial aid, etc. to get mixed in with all of the marketing emails so we created a separate account that was only used on applications.
ETA: All of the email address we used were similar so schools realized it was the same student. For example JoeSmith21 and Joe_Smith21 or JoeSmith2022 (for College Board) and JoSmith2026 (for applications)
