I visited a couple schools in the North East and used one email to sign up for tours (my general private email address). For college apps, I want to create a new email specifically for college stuff. My worry though is that because I signed up/attended visits with this email and I’ll be applying with a new one, will my visits still be logged? My private email address goes the.(first name).(last name)@gmail.com–is this too juvenile to put on official college tours (kicking myself because I should have used a new address then)! Thanks so much for your help!
They really don’t care what your email address is. I did the same thing last year: created an entirely college oriented email for all of the spam I’d get/ actually important things that I didn’t want to miss. Creating one is so simple, why not? Don’t worry about sounding silly: mine was basically “feartheENGR”college@gmail.com so I’d know it was the college one! I’d suggest using a new one, but it’s your choice. And yes, it’s still your email, connected to you, so they know you visited.
@feartheENGR Thanks! I’m just worried that they have the visit assigned under an email address.
When I applied to college my email was firstname.lastname as well (although no “the” at the beginning). In fact, I still use that email (though only for social media/online shopping/any company that sends me advertisements; I use my cornell.edu email for anything academic/professional). I don’t know how your name could be considered juvenile! Surely you must have gone through a phase in middle school where your email was “sparklingcatslovesglitterdogs” or something along those lines. THAT’S juvenile. Your own name isn’t.
