Hi all,
I may be going to a new college for senior year, and this is worrying me because the college is a bit better than the one I am at now. The thing is, the top 9 percent of students in any school in California will be allowed into a UC school (so I have heard from a college admissions advisor who works at UCSD). When I go from this school, I will be going from rank 20 out of 600 to a higher rank, and I just want to know if you guys think it will make a difference? Again, the GPA will be the same, but I will a higher rank.

Edit: Meant to say that I will be a lower rank at the new school.

I believe GPA, rigor, extracurriculars and such will matter more than class rank. Many schools don’t even give class rank for this reason. As long as you will be in a good standing compared to the rest of the class (top 10% and such) I don’t think it will matter greatly.
