Nightmare scenario: I'm an IB diploma student that decided to self study for 2 APs this year because those subjects weren't offered at my school. After working my butt off for the better part of 3 months, Collegeboard has 'misplaced' my exams. Meaning they arrived at the centre but were never graded. Since I self studied, I can't even show the universities I'm applying to in the fall a predicted grade or anything. Is there anything I can do at this point that'll get me some credit?

After searching the web, I found one story of the College Board finding 160+ exams they lost, so it’s possible they might find yours if this is recent. I’m sorry I can’t be of more help.

Is it too late for you to retake the exams? If there’s still time, maybe they’ll let you retake them for free since they lost your scores. I know it’s a pain, but at least you’d get credit that way.

That’s a bummer. The good news is that IB program is sufficient for competitive college admissions and AP exams are not at all necessary. APs not offerec at your school aren’t expected to be taken. I hope they find them though. Of course there is nothing you can do yourself. You say ‘credit’, so if you were planning to use these as college credits then see if you can retake it.

Did CB refund you your fees? At least you can mention this in a note, even if you do not have the actual scores. Sorry about your situation – that stinks. But like BP says, your IB is sufficient

Unfortunately, AP is only offer once a year. So a free retake would not help much. Hopefully they will find the test and get them graded by the time you matriculated. That is all you need. Nevertheless, it is extremely rare that they lost both of your AP exam. Anyway, you should continue to bug them to see if they will take further action on that.

Go to your local Consumer Reporter and have them help you out.

Thanks everyone

@T26E4 I haven’t been refunded yet because collegeboard is questioning if I actually paid for the exam since they have no record of it… I know that IB should be enough, but I studied for econ because that’s what I want to major in and it would basically allow me to skip first year since I have all my IB credits too.

@bopper I’ve called them three times already but the receptionists are saying that they’ll get back to me later. Doesn’t look like they know what to do :/

@billcsho I’ll definitely be calling them again!
