collegeboard SAT blue book score conversion table problem?

hi not sure if this is a problem for anyone

but does anyone have any idea why from practice test 4 onwards in the bluebook, the conversion table gives RANGES of scaled scores instead of a definite number? like if you got 50 raw score, they say your scaled score is 600-660 instead of like maybe 630.

this is really frustrating coz i don't really have an idea of whether i'm improving or not. plus a scaled score range of 60 is pretty big.

anyone have the same problem?

thank you!! :)

It’s because the first 3 tests are actual tests that were administered, and the rest are not. Therefore, they can only give you a range since there’s no exact curve. But yeah, it frustrates me, too…my last practice test ranged from a 2170-2350, which is obviously a REALLY large difference. ):
