<p>What are some colleges that give AP credit-meaning that you can use a 4/5 on an AP test to fulfill some entry/101 classes? I am especially interested in the more selective colleges. </p>

<p>Most colleges and universities award credit or placement for AP exams. However, each institution sets its own policy about this. You should make a list of the places that are interesting to you, and then check each of their websites.</p>
<p>If you go to Collegeboard, there is a place where you can check each school’s AP policy.</p>
<p>My guess only: the highest ranked colleges that are generous with AP credits are:</p>
<p>UC Berkeley
UVA
UCLA
USC</p>
<p>Most of the top 10, or top 30 for that matter, might give some GedEd credit, but rarely departmental credit, and when doing so grant one quarter/semester vs. those listed above that tend to give two quarters/semesters for Bio/Chem/Phyiscs AP scores of 4/5 or one quarter/semester for 3/4 and two for a 5.</p>
<p>one of the attractions of the UC system is that kids with 8, 10, 12 AP classes enter the University with Sophomore standing, making it easy to graduate in 4 years, or even in 3.5, depending on major.</p>

<p>For the most part, ultra-competitive schools, like Harvard, do not offer AP credits to place out of 101 classes, but most of these universities also do not require a heavy 101 courseload to begin with.</p>
